All I want is to be good at keeping up a blog. Guess I want to much.

I am going to try harder.

If not for me,

then I guess I will do it for the sake of the people!

Spring is Here!

Well it has been a while since last updated, but I am going to try! I started back to school in January and Lee is still in school. We decided that if I was going to start back to school there was no better time than now. So nursing school here I come! It has been a hectic semester with Parker in Joy School and starting soccer and me in class three days a week! Poor Luke though, he wants to play soccer with Parker so bad and gets upset at his practices because he cannot play. I am hoping Luke will be able to play this fall but I have a feeling he is still going to be to young. Watching Parker play soccer is an exiciting adventure that makes me look forward to all the games I am going to be attending over the next 18 years.

Halloween Weekend

This has been a crazy week. Parker decided to get sick about a week ago and has now passed it on to Luke who has lost his voice and sounds terrible. Good thing about all of it is everyone is still in good moods and have been getting along for the most part and understands what it means when I say "He doesn't want to play. He doesn't feel good, he is sick." That has made things a lot easier around here with two sick kids.

As for Lee and I we are both fighting off the urge to get sick. We leave in a week to go on our weekend getaway to Gatlinburg and do NOT want to be sick!

Halloween was so much fun this year and we are now looking forward to the rest of the holiday season! Parker had fun with his costume this year. He was Batman and very proud of the fact that he pick it out himself. We had to hide the costume from him because he was wanting to wear it all day everyday, but now that Halloween is over we have given him the freedom to wear it when ever he wants (and he does!) Luke on the other hand was supposed to be a puppy dog. I had picked out the cutest little costume and had planned on painting his nose black, the whole deal. But he refused to wear the costume and decided he wanted to be a firefighter. Luckily we had a costume from Parker last year. Next year Lee and I are going to dress up! I am thinking the Flintstones!

Saturday morning was FUN! We went as a family to Tate Farms! It was great to go as a family and see friends while we were there. Parker, Luke, and I all took a ride on the corn train and had a blast. The tractor driver was a little crazy which made for an interesting and fun ride. Lee and Luke had a blast sliding down a HUGE slide, in fact Luke was all over going over and over again. Parker loved the slide made out of an old combine tractor and it was hard to get him away from it. By the time we left both boys and Daddy were exhausted and took a nice long nap!

Unfortunately when everyone woke up that afternoon to get ready for Trunk or Treat at church Parker had a fever. So Luke and I went and had a blast! We missed the chili cook-off like they would normally have but really enjoyed the games and activities that they had set up instead. As for Trick or Treating we did go on Sunday night. The boys had a blast even though Parker was still sick. Lee and his brother-in-law took the boys trick or treating and said that after a few houses Luke laid on a driveway and had a breakdown and Parker informed them that he was done trick or treating. Even with the drama everyone still had a great time this Halloween.

Zoo Trip!

We had a blast at the Birmingham Zoo on Monday! I went with the boys along with my sister-in-law and her two boys. It was perfect weather and we only lost one of the boys (Luke) for about 1 min. (we found him following another family after getting off the train ride!) I was almost in full panic mode when my 6yr old nephew spotted him down the hill.

Parker's favorite thing had to be two black swans that were eating the food purchased out of a little machine. Luke on the other hand was not sure what to think about any of the animals. They both really LOVED the train ride and watching all the construction for the new elephant exhibit that will hopefully be open next year. The past two times we have gone there have not been any elephants! This time there were a few exhibits that were closed, so that was a bummer. But we still had a great time!

First Visit to the Dentist!

I am so proud of my two boys!! They had their first visit to the dentist today and did GREAT!!! I was a little worried about how they were going to act because of the way they acted in the waiting room, but I have to admit if I were 2 and 3 years old and in a boring waiting room I would act the same.

When they first went back they were able to pick out their new toothbrushes and toothpaste then the dental assistant had me read them a book about Dora going to the dentist. When the lady came back in the little room she had Parker sit in the chair (which he did without crying!) and brushed his teeth with his new toothbrush. He loved it! After that I about had a heart attack when he let them use the dental toothbrush (the one that the dentist uses to clean your teeth) to clean his teeth!

Luke did a great job too. I think the fact that Parker was such a great model was good for Luke. He sat in my lap and cried for about 30 seconds until they gave him a little mirror for him to look in while they brushed and counted his teeth. He was more interested in playing while he was there but let them do what they needed to do!

I could not be more proud of my kids on their first visit to the dentist!!

Joy School

Parker started Joy School this month. I guess you could call it preschool but they deal more with how our body helps us with everyday activities, getting along with others, following directions, and the environment around us. Lets just say it has been a challenge. Parker is one of 5 three year olds and is the one having the most problems. He listens, but he has a hard time sitting still and not talking when he feels like talking. I know he is only 3 yrs old but so are the other kids. I just keep telling myself that Parker is a strong willed child. (Ha ha, we already know he is hard headed)

This week I had to go help out at school with him and after a bad day on Tuesday he did NOT want to go this morning. I guess he will be ok next week because I will not be there. He normally cannot wait to get to school to see his friends.

Luke on the other hand has loved to having to go to "Parker school." He would participate when he wanted and sit with me or roll around on the floor the other times. Luke likes to do what Parker is doing and he will follow Parker and do what he tells him to do, no mater what it is. Not always the best thing but they have fun together.

Lee has school on Tuesday and Thursday nights so I consider them my "long days" I am not used to Tuesday/Thursday and by the time I am he will be starting a new semester and his classes will more than likely be Monday/Wed. Lee is doing good in school, but has voiced on many days (everyday) how much he HATES his math class. He is getting to where when he comes home he will eat dinner, say"hey" to everyone then will go upstairs and study. I know it is for the best and won't last forever, I just hope he does good in his classes!

New To This!

OK so we are new to the whole blog thing, but....I know i am going to love it. I want to tell everyone about my family and what happens to them on a daily basis! In other words.....I want to brag ;o)

Give me a little while and I will be able post some pictures (as soon as Lee shows me how) and figure this whole thing out.
